They say the vehicle stopped momentarily, but when officers got out of their cruiser to talk to the driver, he tried to leave by suddenly accelerating.

Police say the man struck the empty police vehicle and drove a short distance before he got out of his vehicle and tried to run.

After a short chase, police say they caught the man and discovered a large amount of cocaine, crystal meth and marijuana.

Police say the 52-year-old man has been charged with evading police, failing to remain at the scene of a crash and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
